Re: DefenseWall v3.06 released
According to the 3.06 Beta thread:
However, when I was testing the latest 3.06 Beta a couple of days back, I noticed it again failed Method B (while version 3.05 passed):
https://ssj100.forumotion.com/security-f7/lnk-vulnerability-poc-re-test-t206.htm#1435
I'll test the 3.06 final soon.
EDIT: 3.06 final gives the same results as 3.04 final - Pass on Method A, Fail on Method B. Regardless, something's definitely changed in 3.06 (from 3.05) as the overall system shows about the same amount of "lag" as with 3.04 (3.05 gave the most lag). Whatever the case, Ilya has now gone through 2 final release versions in attempts to "harden" this LNK vulnerability (that Micosoft has already "mostly" patched). Given this, something tells me there was indeed a "vulnerability" or "bypass", despite his slightly confusing dialogue on it.

Some additional .lnk protection improvements.
