Re: Has anyone tried Clean Slate?
Maybe LUA+SRP is so effective because not many people are using it? If such implementation became ubiquitous, malware writers would be forced to come up with something to bypass SRP or face going out of "business". I guess the more this approach to secure windows is adopted, the more likely it will be rendered useless by real world malware based on one of those POC's. Of course we can always add Sandboxie or even sandboxed VM, but that's just not as elegant, is it?

Re: Has anyone tried Clean Slate?
From a security purist's point of view, I still believe in the use of third party security software. The reason is because Windows can directly be exploited with eg. privilege escalation exploits, and potentially render built-in security useless.
clean slate...disappointing
Hi there..hopefully somebody that's still looking for something like this will read this post.
i manage a small 25 pcs lab in a school and i tried clean slate to protect them..students where messing up everything. Well...clean slate didn't help in terms of security at all. the security was easily bypassed by just booting into safemode and deleting the clean slate directories. our team tried this rollback rx software that pretty much did everything any pc restore software would do and it even works great for my teacher's machines too.

Sorry for replying too late. I know this is too old thread to reply but I would like to share my thoughts. I'm not much aware of it but I'm using it competitive product Deep Freeze. It works better for me.
